Welcome to the FHS Mathematics Department!
Our goal is to foster conceptual understanding and curiosity for STEM through real-world application and student-centered classrooms. We strive to build our student’s skills not only in mathematics but in reading, writing, discussion, and listening.
In high school mathematics, students are required to pass at least one of the three NYS Regents Exam for graduation: Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2. However, all of our students take four years of mathematics and are motivated to take all three Mathematics Regents exams.

Advanced Placement StatisticsWe now have an exciting new Computer Science Program! All freshmen students are programmed for either Bootstrap Data Science or Advanced Placement Computer Science Principles, depending on what math credits they enter FHS with. We hope to expand our program to offer more CS courses each year. Currently, we offer the following courses:
